I love these kiddos like they are my own. Mainly because they are one of my best friends' kiddos, and we see them every week. But they are also the sweetest, most precious kids ever, and I would drop everything for them. They are almost like my own. And we had a blast this day!!

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting this precious family today and getting to photograph their gorgeous children. This little guy was just shy of 2 weeks old and just the most handsome little man. He reminded me of my son that was this small not so long ago...gosh, how they grow too fast! He also shares a name with my son, so I was so excited to bring my Nathan's personalized newborn hat to get some more wear during this shoot. Isn't he adorable?!
He has a wonderful big sister to take care of him as well. She is so fun and sweet as can be. Thanks for a wonderful day...I enjoyed it immensely!

A family affair

My favorite moments captured in photography are the unscripted ones. I think that is why I love the photograph children so much...they usually have their own agendas when it comes to a photo session, and I love that. But sometimes families need pictures also, so I was honored to take some photographs of this precious family...and still manage to get a couple of unscripted shots. :)

A hot summer afternoon in Florida

I always try to explain to everyone how much I love doing photo shoots, but I don't think I can ever explain truly how much I love it!! It is like a rush of endorphins every time I start a shoot, and I just enjoy the little time I have to capture these shots of the adorable kids I encounter. This brother and sister duo was a hoot! We had so much fun this afternoon, and I enjoyed every single second of it...even amidst the hot and humid Florida summer afternoon. Thanks so much for the opportunity to do this today!!

Oh wow! Today's session with this precious little baby boy was an absolute blast! He is so handsome...he literally took my breath away. I had the wonderful privilege of taking his photographs on the day that he was due...the little man decided to surprise everyone a month ago by coming quite a bit early. He is so darling, and his parents are just as precious. I enjoyed visiting with them immensely today...thanks for a wonderful morning!!

I just love doing newborn shoots! Sure, they take more time and patience than other photo shoots, but they are so much fun. This beautiful little gal was 6 days old when we did her shoot. She was so precious, and her big sister was a doll through the entire time I was with them. I just love photo shoots like these. Thanks guys!!

A sneak peek for the S family

I have been blessed to meet some wonderful families to photograph over the past few months, and I am thankful for this. Today, I met the S family and know that they will hold a special place in my mind and heart for a long time to come. What a loving family!! I thoroughly enjoyed watching this sweet family interact with one another, and I tried to convey the love that they shared in my photographs. The children were just so precious and absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening, S family! I adored getting to meet you all!!

Why I love 2 year olds

I love 2 year olds...I just do. Many photographers would say that 2 year olds are some of the hardest subjects to have a photo shoot with, and while that may be true, they are by far the most fun. They keep you on your toes and keep you trying to figure out new ways to keep them entertained, happy and willing to look at your camera. It's always an exciting session!

Miss J is the sweetest and cutest little thing. I have been photographing her since she was a year old and have enjoyed seeing her grow up. I love this little sweetheart to pieces!! Thanks for a fun session...and Happy 2nd Birthday!!

I met the cutest and sweetest little brother and sister this weekend and had the wonderful privilege of photographing them. They were both little dolls and so adorable!! The big sister had the most gorgeous blue eyes I have ever seen, and her brother had equally gorgeous big brown eyes. It was definitely such a fun evening!

One Year Old

The little guy is about to turn one, and I simply can't believe it. The past year has gone by so fast, and I have throughly enjoyed chronicling his growth in pictures every few months. He is simply the most adorable and sweetest one year old ever, and my heart swells every time he gives me that toothy smile of his. Happy Birthday, little M!

Love this shot...what do all 1 year olds do? Stick random objects in their mouths. I love this age of exploration!! One a side note, We are nearing the time to welcome the newest addition into our family, so I will not scheduling any more photo shoots for a few months. I'll update everyone when I start to schedule these shoots again...it should be late spring.

Almost 4 months old

These are the two most adorable twin "brother and sister" I have ever met! They completely stole my heart the moment I saw them. They just smiled and talked to me, and I hated to say good-bye to them. We had so much fun at this photo shoot. Thank you, Little J and A...I can't wait to see you again in a few months!!

Photographer's Mixer

I had the privilege of attending my second photographer's mixer on Saturday...where quite a few children's photographers from all over our state get together and talk shop, share ideas and tricks of the trade, and take pictures of each other's kiddos for practice and portfolio work. I can not even begin to describe the amount of fun I had today during this maternity shoot. She is 2 weeks ahead of me with a little boy as well, so I bet it was funny for onlookers to see 2 pregnant women waddle their way around our shoot location. Thanks Pam and Joseph...I had a BLAST!

We had an interesting time with little miss Jolee during her shoot last week. We experienced fire ant bites, a very tired girl, and the fact that I was in pre-term labor (although didn't know it for sure until later that day). Everything is well now, and I am finally able to go through the pictures from the shoot. Jolee is a doll, regardless of whether or not she wanted her picture taken that day. Love ya, girlie!

This one is, of course, my favorite! It just shows the emotion of being a toddler so well...poor little thing. But gosh, I love it so much. HA!

She wanted to try to get some pictures for a Christmas card...hence the Christmas attire. :) He is such a joy, and he has the sweetest smile and most gorgeous eyes. Chilly Beach Day

I had the wonderful privilege of having a photo shoot with the sweetest and cutest brothers this weekend. They are identical 3 year old boys full of life and happiness, and they definitely kept me running. We recently found out that we are having a little boy in the spring and being around these precious boys made me even more excited about being blessed to raise a little boy ourselves. They were a true joy! I was met with hugs and smiles as they piled out of their vehicle, and it melted my heart on the spot. Thank you for the wonderful evening, Cox family. It was definitely a blast meeting you all! When was the last time you were this excited to be at the beach? His enthusiasm was contagious.We tried to get some family pictures for a Christmas card, but the boys were ready to explore once again...the joys of being 3. I just love this picture:

This little guy is the cutest little 7 month old ever. I had so much fun during this photo shoot. This whole family is just a joy to work with. I love this age when they are just a bucket full of drool. I know it is a mom's nature to try to hide the drool, but I have recently realized that this drooly stage doesn't last long at all, so I wanted to capture that drool in some of these shots (look at the one of he and his dad playing airplane. HA!). You forget how fast the grow. Isn't he just the cutest, happiest little baby? Love it!

I had the privilege of photographing my niece and nephew both formally and informally while we were in Kentucky. They are the sweetest little things, and I miss them greatly. My 3 year old sure did have a great time with her cousins.

Fun with photoshop

I finally got photoshop...so long are the days of editing in Paint Shop Pro. I love Photoshop. It has changed the entire editing process that I grew comfortable with, and it is a much speedier way to edit. I love seeing what new things I can do with pictures now.

We spent a couple of days with a fellow photographer friend of mine and her sweet family. What a fun time! Aren't her kiddos the cutest ever?
